The Pool DustBuster

We have the Dolphin Nautilus pool robot and we love it (review for another day), but just like having a Shark home vacuum, there are times that it's just easier to get that one pile of dirt in the corner with the DustBuster. Enter the Starrybot.

I review-shopped Amazon looking for a rechargeable handheld device and the prices run the gamut from a couple hundred dollars to some lesser heralded devices in the $29.99 range. Across the board, regardless of price range, reviews were a mixed bag and very few devices were higher than 4.0 stars. Ultimately I settled on the Starrybot based on its okay reviews (3.2 stars), and its $59.99 price tag. Better reviews than the cheaper units and cheaper price than the slightly better-reviewed units.

Solidly constructed, easy to assemble, easy to adjust the length of the handle and good suction. This device works perfectly for us and does just what we want — grab those piles of dirt in the corners of the pool where the larger robot vac just doesn't go. Mrs. Questionable is always a little leery of my appliance gadget purchases (rightfully so), but even she has given her endorsement to this low-cost, functional tool.

My only complaint (and it's legit) is that the charging cable is proprietary, so not compatible with USB-C and I only have the one charging cable. I hope I don’t lose it!
